Rene Fritz's Bio

For more than 30 years Rene has coached over 200 CEOs, allowing them to achieve balance in their life and business, helping them grow, add or divest assets, obtain bank and angel funding, interview the correct talent and have fun. When the time is right, he transition to another activity. Rene, his staff and partner network have helped firms get funding, go public and keep the company a family owned asset.

Rene Fritz has more than 30 years building his own firms and coaching other CEOs. His involvement in the formation and development of more than 25 firms has earned him mention as a “serial entrepreneur” by Inc. Magazine.

His most successful venture to date was starting Stormwater Management. The company began with two employees and a technical founder and he sold the company for more than $60 million cash ten years later. While doing this, Rene also started two human resource companies called HC Oregon and HC Washington. He built them up to over $6 million in sales and won an Inc. 500 award – 107th fastest growing company in 2004.

At the same time, he operated Chief Executive Forum, an organization to coach CEOs in the Pacific Northwest.

Rene has experience in some key, complex areas:

  • Financing experience:┬áNew York banks and Pentagon financing, private placements, limited partnerships, ESOPs, and strategic joint ventures with Fortune 100 partners.
  • Licensing:Licensed technologies into and out of companies including establishing international manufacturing licensees in Canada, New Zealand, Sweden and France.
  • Partners to assist when needed:Rene has developed over 150 skilled partner relationships over the past 30 years to help when needed in areas like HR, improving sales or Wall Street finance. They can be called on the phone for a quick comment or brought in for more detailed review of the issues.

Personal and professional involvement

Rene enjoys being involved with the business community. He has sat on many corporate boards, including a financial institution for more than 13 years, the U.S. Naval Academy Board of Trustees and the advisory board of Inc. Magazine. Over a 15-year period, he was an active member of the Young Presidents Organization. He is also listed in Who’s Who in America and Who’s Who in Finance and Industry.

For the past 20 years he has operated his own Chief Executive Forum Groups, coaching CEOs in the Seattle, Portland and Nevada. Rene is also a member two angel financing organizations and is on the education committee for the Angel Capital Association a 2000 angel member organization.

Rene has done speaking engagements at the National Turnaround Organization, Oregon State University, and the University of Washington and a variety of MBA guest lectures. He also co-sponsored and presented a weekend radio talk show titled “The Weekend Business Coach,” among other media appearances.

Rene and his wife, Sharyn, have been married for more than 45 years. Their have 4 sons, 4 daughters-in-law and 5 grandchildren who are the number-one focus of their lives.
